Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing — we never store your password in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email, name, and profile picture.

When you use our products, we store what you give us and what we make from it. For a Keepsake Book, that is the person's name, birth date and birthplace, any answers you add (such as a birth time, places they lived or family dates), your dedication and any letter you write, along with the book we generate. For a video reel, it is the date, place, style and any note you give, along with the reel we generate. For a Time Capsule, it is the person's name, birth date and birthplace, the moments you add with any photos you upload (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB each, stored resized), your captions and note, and, if you send it, the email addresses of the people you send it to and the date it opens — up to 25 years ahead for a sealed capsule, which we keep until that day. A shared Time Capsule, including its photos, can be viewed by anyone who has its link. For a poster, it is the date, time, place and words you choose. If you order a printed book or poster, we collect the name, shipping address and (for a book) phone number needed to deliver it.

We also store your payment history and account balance, along with standard usage data such as session tokens (stored in httpOnly cookies) and purchase records.

We use your information to operate the service: generating your books and reels, processing payments, printing and shipping book and poster orders, and delivering Time Capsules on the dates you choose. We send transactional emails — order confirmations, notices that your book is ready, Time Capsule receipts, yearly check-ins, reminders and opening-day emails to the people you choose, and email verification — through our email provider.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train AI models.

We rely on the following third-party services to operate:

Stripe

Payment processing. We store your Stripe customer ID; your full card details are held by Stripe, not us.

Resend

Transactional email delivery (order confirmations, notices that your book is ready, Time Capsule deliveries and reminders, email verification and password resets).

Anthropic

AI text generation for Keepsake Book writing and video reel scripts.

OpenAI

Text-to-speech narration for video reels.

fal.ai

AI image generation for video reels.

Cloudflare R2

Object storage for generated books, video files and Time Capsule photos.

Prodigi

Printing and shipping of posters. The recipient's name and shipping address are shared with Prodigi to print and deliver your order.

Lulu

Printing and shipping of hardcover Keepsake Books. The recipient's name, shipping address and phone number are shared with Lulu to print and deliver your order.

Google

OAuth sign-in (if you choose to sign in with Google).

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We share only the data necessary to provide the specific service.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a Keepsake Book, it stays recoverable from your library for 30 days and is then permanently deleted. Deleting a Time Capsule cancels its delivery. If you delete your account, any Time Capsule not yet delivered, sealed ones included, is cancelled, and all associated data is permanently deleted — including your generated content and purchase history. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Note that Stripe may retain payment records independently as required by law.

We use a single httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts.
